Fourth Grade TAG Math
TAG math is an accelerated curriculum and the students will continue learning the rest of fourth grade as well as ALL of fifth grade content. In April, the fourth grade students will take the Fifth grade STAAR test.
Daily Materials:
"TAG Bag"
Math folder and spiral (assigned from homeroom)
fully charged Chromebooks (I do not have extra chargers)
Readiness:
iReady Math (students must complete at least 2 math lessons per nine weeks)
*New Curriculum*: Bluebonnet (Practice or Succeed Booklets) sent at the beginning of the year.
Unit 5: Multiplying and Dividing Fractions
Students will be able to...
represent and solve multiplication and whole numbers and fractions that refer to the same whole.
describe the meaning of parentheses and brackets in a numeric expression.
simplify numerical expressions that do not involve exponents, including up to two levels of grouping.
solve problems by calculating conversions within a measurement system, customary or metric.
represent categorical and numerical data and solve one- and two-step problems using that data.
define income tax, payroll tax, sales tax, and property tax.
explain the difference between gross income and net income.
identify the advantages and disadvantages of different methods of payment, including check, credit card, debit card, and electronic payments.

describe actions that might be taken to balance a budget when expenses exceed income.

Problem Solving (Ongoing):
In problem solving, the students will not only focus on the answer. Rather, students are expected to use a problem‐solving model that incorporates analyzing given information, formulating a plan or strategy, determining a solution, justifying the solution and evaluating the problem‐solving process through communication skills and with reasonableness.
