Find out what we are learning in Fourth Grade TAG Math at Laurel Mountain Elementary!
Fourth Grade TAG Math
TAG math is an accelerated curriculum and the students will continue learning the rest of fourth grade as well as ALL of fifth grade content. In April, the fourth grade students will take the Fifth grade STAAR test. TAG Math is Monday-Friday (Group 1: 7:45-8:50 & Group 2 9:40-10:55).
Daily Materials:
"TAG Bag"
Math folder and spiral (assigned from homeroom)
fully charged Chromebooks (I do not have extra chargers)
Readiness:
iReady Math (students must complete at least 2 math lessons per nine weeks)
*New Curriculum*: Bluebonnet (Practice or Succeed Booklets) sent at the beginning of the year.
Unit 6: Geometry
Students will be able to...
classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size.
identify points, lines, line segments, rays, angles, and perpendicular and parallel lines.
identify and draw one or more lines of symmetry, if they exist, for a two-dimensional figure.
apply knowledge of right angles to identify acute, right, and obtuse triangles.
determine the approximate measures of angles in degrees to the nearest whole number using a protractor.
draw an angle with a given measure.
determine the measure of an unknown angle formed by two non-overlapping adjacent angles given one or both angle measures, including complementary and supplementary angles.
Problem Solving (Ongoing):
In problem solving, the students will not only focus on the answer. Rather, students are expected to use a problem‐solving model that incorporates analyzing given information, formulating a plan or strategy, determining a solution, justifying the solution and evaluating the problem‐solving process through communication skills and with reasonableness.
