Hello parents and guardians!
We hope you enjoyed the long weekend with your kids!
We had so much fun wrapping up our Boosterthon Fundraiser with all students this week at our Fun Run! Thank you to all of the parents who helped to raise funds at home. We know that this can take a lot of extra communication on your part and we appreciate it! Thank you to all of the parents that also came to our fun run! It was great to see you faces.
Thank you for your partnership,
Your 4th Grade Teachers

This week during our Amplify lessons, we had our final lesson about the author's message. This skill asks students to combine their learning with author's purpose (persuade, inform, entertain, explain, and describe) and the theme of the story. On Thursday, they took their reading assessment. This tested students on their ability to characterize characters in a passage. Next week, we will be starting a ten day exciting Inventors Unit!!! There is a parent letter about this unit below.

This week during our writing block, with our short week, students reviewed previously taught grammar skills including subject and predicates.
This week in math, students studied patterns in Input Output tables. An input output table is a two-column or two-row table that shows inputs and their corresponding outputs. Students found patterns, wrote rules, and filled in blank input output tables. Also this week, students started Module 3: Multi-Digit Multiplication and Division. The first lesson of this unit review the equations and models for area and perimeter.
