NC SLD Policy Addendum

July 1, 2020

Attached is the addendum overviews the new parameters surrounding the updated SLD policy. This policy establishes the understanding that if a child is new to EC under the LD eligibility category, that their eligibility is contingent on their response to interventions within the classroom. Therefore, we will no longer be utilizing a discrepancy model for new eligibility moving forward.

Exception: If a child's referral meeting was held PRIOR to July 1, 2020, then their eligibility criteria would reflect that of what was in place at the time of their referral meeting.
