How To Help Your Child with Remote Learning

How Can You Help Your Child With Remote Learning

Environment

Have a place for your child to work that is quiet and away from distractions.

Ensure you are monitoring your child while they are online.

Your child's school will be on a schedule. Try to stay as close to that schedule if possible. Communicate any issues such as internet connectivity, work schedules, sickness, etc. that may effect your child being on a regular schedule.

Communication

Make sure you know the best way to contact your child's teacher.

When you have a concern, let the teacher know. The sooner you are able to communicate there is a problem the sooner it can be resolved as your child's learning team.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Your child's teacher is there to support you.

Attendance

Make sure your child is checking in.

If there is a good reason your child is not in attendance contact your child's teacher and let them know why.

Student Work

Your child should be receiving grades and feedback. Get connected with your child on SeeSaw(K-2), Google Classroom(3-5), or Canvas(6-12) so that you can monitor your child's work and grades. Students can redo and make up work in a timely manner for grade improvement.
