PRODUCTION 2024
We are BEYOND proud of Pae Ake for their performance in our School Production. They have been practsing LOTS and have worked so hard. Ka rawe!
Pae Ake you did it!!! You smashed out the challenge of collecting all of the ducks! We are so proud of how you worked together as a team. Kotahitanga is when we all work together as one! We definitely showed this!!!
We celebrated Wig Wednesday to support and tautoko our Riley girl and her journey with Cancer. It was amazing to see so many our ākonga with their wigs and messy hair! We raised a fantastic amount of money as well! Ka rawe, Riverdale School!
We have started our Pae Ake Hui Whānau. Every morning we have 2 ākonga who introduce themselves and deliver our daily notices. We ask a lot of questions in te reo Māori like, what day is it? How are you feeling? What season are we in? Our ākonga are working hard to remember their reo and pronounce their kupu - words.
This is the song that our ākonga will be dancing to during the production. They are more than welcome to practise singing their song whenever they like. Ngā mihi!
Scott is now a Level 2, he has been an absolute superstar! Well done, Scott
Our Assembly was on Friday and our amazing ākonga were superstars. They spoke clearly and we are proud of all of our speakers! Ka pai tōu mahi, koutou!
Ka rawe koutou! Tu meke!
We are currently looking into the process of creating creative costumes. Our ākonga have made their first drafts of their designs and have been working towards developing their prototype.
Today Mrs Whitta took a group of Pae Ake ākonga for an art activity to create their own ant nests. They made paths for their ant colony to move through and feed their young. There was lots of ideas about what was needed in an ant colony. Which ant was going to be the Queen? Where should the food be stored? Take a look at these outstanding nests!!!
Hi, I'm going to tell you about THE GOLDEN DUCK in Pae Ake. It's when we are being good or helpful and being kind. Anyway when we are good the teachers or Level 2s put a Golden Duck into another golden duck. When the other golden duck we get a reward, but we are still thinking of what the reward is going to be. Mrs Whitta had just thought about the golden duck on Tuesday and we thought it would be a very good thing to do in Pae Ake. We cheer when the teachers or Level 2s put in a duck. Also the golden duck in Pae Ake is getting more full every single day!!!

We took advantage of the sunny weather and went outside to bike around the track and explore and use different PE gear. Gotta love the sun!!
Mrs Pedersen did some more art connected to the Olympics - "Starry Night in Paris". We used oil pastel for the background, blended the pastel, then cut and pasted a picture of the Eiffel Tower. Some of us added some white/yellow blobs for stars! They are so beautiful and unique!
Here are a few more talented ākonga who are now Level 2!!!
Today we started to look into our Inquiry for this Term. We are working towards designing our costumes for the Production at the end of the Term. Pae Ake worked in small groups and shared their ideas about what we think we need to know about our Inquiry.
We are very excited about this Inquiry!!!
We have had a few new Level 2 ākonga this Term. So... we decided to celebrate them all with their own photos in front of the Pae Ake Wall of Fame.
Our Wall of Fame is a place to celebrate the success of our learners. We will be creating memories to share with you all over the upcoming weeks.
Take a look at these funny PE videos. We have had a lot of fun working in groups and learning to take turns and encourage our friends when we are playing. Relays let us show off our speed and agility, silly relays let us have fun while working out!
What a fabulous start to Term 3! This term has been a bit different with our Pae Ake split, but we have had lots of fun easing back into learning in our new(ish) spaces!
We named our spaces, did a scavenger hunt to explore our class, did some fun PE, got to do Opt In's... and MORE!
