Sarah was born and raised in Northeast Iowa and is a proud member of the last graduating class of Garnavillo High School in 2001. Initially, Sarah graduated with a degree in Interior Design in 2003. After not finding her true calling or a rewarding career, Sarah returned to college and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology - Cum Laude from Upper Iowa University in 2011. Fate intervened and she was hired as a QIDP/Program Manager for an ICF/ID home. Sarah had finally found the career she desired by working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illness. Besides finding her career, Sarah also met her husband Doug.
Joining RISE Ltd. in January 2015 as the Day Habilitation Team Leader, Sarah transitioned to the Elkader Hourly SCL Program Director in November 2016. Adding to her role at RISE Ltd. Sarah manages Human Resources for the agency as well as coordinating all aspects of training. Sarah’s attention to detail has been a true asset for the agency. Sarah also serves as the Co-Chair of the Events Commitee. Sarah enjoys using her creativity to plan events for staff and individuals that create lifelong memories and skills.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 dogs and family and friends, creating in her craft room, shopping, reading and watching true crime and enjoying the scenery of Northeast Iowa.
