Social wellness focuses on the ability to develop meaningful relationships in your life with individuals and communities. By fostering an environment of respect, trust, and support with your loved ones and classmates, you can improve your social well-being. It's also important to be mindful of others' emotions and to develop a sense of empathy. Studies demonstrate that social connections not only help us manage stress, but also contribute to other parts of the wellness circle.
With the surge of digital footprint after the pandemic and social media, another aspect of social wellness concerns digital wellness too. It's important to be mindful of our virtual presence and use of technology in order to maintain overall wellness. By creating sustainable habits that align with our values, goals, community, and safety, you can ensure that your digital interactions are contributing to your well-being. RAs are undergraduate or grad students who live with a group of residents in an assigned community. They create and maintain an inclusive community by building genuine relationships with their area’s residents, as well as plan and implement residential programs and community-building activities. RAs also provide emergency on-call coverage, can respond to emergencies, assist with roommate issues, offer guidance on academic courses and campus resources and help you navigate personal issues.
Locations: Every on-campus housing area has RAs!
