Day 1

Learning About Nature-

In the TK-1st grade classroom, the students read about plants and how they cannot survive without water or sun. As the children learned the parts of a plant, the teachers informed the children about their mascot, a chirping bird. The chirping sounds can be translated to “keep learning kids, keep learning.”

Day 2

You Learn New Things Everyday-

In the TK-1 grade classroom, the teachers gave the students a new word to learn. The students learned the word corn. They learned that corn is a tall plant grown on a stalk, but the stalk must be removed before consumption. While they were learning, one of the teachers pulled out a popcorn pumper, which turned corn kernels into a delicious snack. After, the students made their own corn with finger paints, handprints, and paper plates.

Day 3

The New Pablo Picasso-

In the TK-1st grade classroom, they designed their own farmer. The kids used cut-out parts of a farmer and art supplies to draw their own farmer. As they drew, they demonstrated how well they could draw to their teachers.

Day 4

Tractors See, Tractors Do-

In the TK-1 grade classroom, the students learned about tractors and how they operate. The students wrote their own book about tractors. As a part of their lesson, the teachers informed the kids about how pictures in books are made.

Day 5

Holy Cow-

In the TK-1 grade classroom, the students learned a new word of the day. The word of the day was "cow". Next, the students drew their very own cow. Since their word of the day was cow, the kids were able to make their own ice cream.

Day 6

Stop Horsing Around-

In the TK-1st grade classroom, the students learned about horses, as it was their word of the day. Since they were learning about horses, they did a craft activity on them. This activity was making a horse with hand prints.

Day 7

Look At All Those Chickens-

In the TK-1st grade classroom, the students learned about chickens and ducks. The teachers sang a song about 5 small ducks who left their mother, and how their mother was sad when they left. As a part of this song, they did a play about these ducks.

Day 8

Don’t Be Sheepish-

In the TK-1st grade classroom, the students learned about sheep and goats. They did an activity with cotton balls, paper plates, and black construction paper to make their own sheep. Then the kids read a book called “Russell the Sheep.”

Day 9

Miss Piggy-

In the TK-1st grade classroom today, the students learned about pigs. They learned through a book that told them about how pigs weigh 3 lbs at birth, eat dry food when they are older, move from pen to pen in order to reproduce, etc. They made a pig as a project and it was posted on the wall with their other animal projects.

Day 10

Saying Goodbye-

In the TK-1st grade classroom, the students finalized their activities they worked on for the last two weeks. Later, their parents came to the classroom to view the work they completed. These projects were taken home since the students worked so hard to make their work look amazing.
