We will also review graduation requirements, and the best way to integrate individual student goals with the course selections they make from year to year. This portion will culminate in a rough four-year plan that each student can use to pursue their aspirations while ensuring that they meet their requirements.
In addition, we will spend time becoming acclimated to the school building, discuss important social and emotional elements of the transition to high school, resources available to assist students, and how to become involved in extracurricular activities. Indian Hills High School, Please report to the front of the building / main entrance by 9:00 AM
One of the most important things for AP US History II students to do as they enter their junior year is to maintain and build on the skills they learned when they were enrolled in AP US History I. The AP US History Writing Bootcamp for Incoming Juniors aims to provide extended practice for those who just finished the first half of the course during their sophomore year by building on and improving the skills they developed. Without worrying about grades, students enrolled in the course will receive additional practice and feedback on the skills required to take the AP US History exam next May. Students will have the opportunity to review and clarify content they needed extra help with during AP US History I, practice writing free-response questions (DBQs, LEQs, and SAQs) by drawing from content they learned in their sophomore year, and read and use sample responses from previous exams. This AP US History Bootcamp is designed for juniors who want a low-pressure environment to continue honing the skills they developed the previous year and who want to maintain a productive momentum before starting AP US History II. This course will run from 9:00am-12:00pm.
