This course will focus on elements of the high school experience that are necessary for students to meet with success early on. Sessions will introduce students to crucial portions of the Student Handbook that we find most useful for incoming students. We will also review graduation requirements, and the best way to integrate individual student goals with the course selections they make from year to year. This portion will culminate in a rough four-year plan that each student can use to pursue their aspirations while ensuring that they meet their requirements.

In addition, we will spend time becoming acclimated to the school building, discuss important social and emotional elements of the transition to high school, resources available to assist students, and how to become involved in extracurricular activities. By addressing individual student concerns about entering high school, I will also tailor some of the content to alleviate these concerns.
