This course is designed for students planning on attending college after high school or have a strong interest in the study of language arts. This course includes a detailed study of various genres of literature in which students read, study, and learn to appreciate short stories, poetry, non-fiction, and drama appropriate to their grade level. Students develop proficiency in writing through responses to select prompts in descriptive, narrative, and expository domains. Grammar and vocabulary studies are incorporated and emphasized to build a greater foundation for writing improvement.
