Rising 9th grade students who live in Richland School District Two are encouraged to apply for either the Discovery or Explorations magnet program. Applications are available on the district web site beginning November 7th. Admission is based on the completion of the acceptance process which includes the following criteria.
The Discovery and Explorations magnet programs encourage all interested students to apply and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, sex, gender, age, or disability in admission to, access to, or treatment in its programs and activities. We are very proud of the diversity in our program and wish to continue providing all students with this learning opportunity.

Prerequisites:
Discovery (Honors/AP Level Math and Science Magnet Program requiring two independent research projects): Algebra I or Geometry (must be enrolled in one of these in eighth grade)
Explorations (College-Prep Level Math and Science Magnet Program requiring a 200-hour internship): Pre-Algebra or Algebra I (should be enrolled in either of these in eighth grade) Note: Eighth graders who are enrolled in Geometry would not take Algebra 2 until their sophomore year with their Explorations cohort.
