N-1 Academic Awards

   N-1-1 Distinguished Cadet Award for Scholastic Excellence Ribbon

Awarded By:  Superintendent/SAI

Award Description:  Awarded annually to one LET 2 or higher cadet who exhibits the highest degree of excellence in overall scholastics (GPA)

Criteria:  Maintain a grade of “A” in all school subjects including JROTC, participate in at minimum of one extracurricular activity, participate in a minimum of 15  hours of non-JROTC sponsored community (i.e. church activities, reading to children, etc.) or school support, must have no derogatory actions taken.

N-1-2  Academic Excellence Ribbon

Awarded By:  Principal/SAI

Award Description:  Awarded annually to one cadet in each LET level for maintaining highest academic grades (GPA)

Criteria:  Placed on RVHS “A” Honor Roll for the entire school year.

N-1-3 Academic Achievement Ribbon

Awarded By:  SAI

Award Description:  Awarded annually to those cadets who maintain a grade of “A” in all academic  subjects in JROTC for the entire school year.

Criteria:  All cadets must maintain an “A” in JROTC for the entire school year.  Must take JROTC both semesters to qualify.

N-1-4 Perfect Attendance Ribbon

Awarded By: SAI

Award Description:  Awarded at the end of each quarter to cadets with no non excused absences during the grading period.

Criteria:  Cadets must have no unexcused absences and no tardies in JROTC

N-1-5 Student Government Ribbon

Awarded By:  Principal/SAI

Award Description:  Awarded to cadets who are elected to the student government/student council or class leadership office

Criteria:  Cadets must be elected and participate in student government/student council or class leadership positions with an overall grade point average of 70%.

N-1-6  Leadership Development Service Ribbon

Awarded By:  SAI

Award Description:  Awarded to cadets successfully completing the training each LET year.

Criteria:  Must complete appropriate LET level with an overall passing grade of 70% or higher.

N-1-7  Honor Roll Ribbon

Awarded By:  SAI

Award Description:  Awarded quarterly to those cadets who make the RVHS Honor Roll (A or A/B) at the end of the 9 week grading period

Criteria:  Cadet must have a grade of “B” or higher in every academic subject during the quarter

N-1-8  Performing Arts Ribbon

Awarded By:  SAI

Award Description:  Awarded each semester to cadets who are a member of a performing arts organization

Criteria:  Cadet must be a member of a performing arts organization to include marching band, concert band, color guard, orchestra, theatre, etc.  Must be a part of at least one performance.

N-1-9  JROTC Scholar Ribbon

Awarded By: SAI

Award Description:  Awarded quarterly to each cadet that earns a grade of “A” in JROTC at the end of the 9 weeks grading period.

Criteria:  Cadet must receive an “A” in JROTC for the quarter and must have no derogatory actions taken.

N-1-10  Reading/Writing Achievement Ribbon

Awarded By:  SAI

Award Description:  Awarded to the top 10 essays submitted for the JROTC Contest 

Criteria:  Cadets must submit an entry to the annual JROTC Essay Contest.  Essays will go through an evaluation to determine the top 10 in JROTC.  Essays must score at least a 90% on the evaluation.
