Eisenhower High School celebrates 50th Anniversary

Eisenhower High School's quad was filled with alumni, current students and faculty, and community members enjoying the carnival in celebration of the school's 50th Anniversary. Eisenhower opened in November of 1959 in rainy conditions. Saturday, October 17, on the other hand was a bright sunny day. Despite the high temperature, the crowds enjoyed the classic car show, the alumni luncheon catered by the Culinary Arts students of Eisenhower, and, of course, a trip down memory lane.

A memorabilia room was set up with displays featuring important moments from each decade. Several alumni loaned old letterman's jackets, band and pageantry uniforms, programs, banners, and stickers for the room. In addition, panorama pictures and yearbooks were also on display.

In the evening, students in band, choir, and dance performed a musical tribute to each of the decades. Concluding the day was alumni hall of fame induction and the renaming of the football stadium.
