Bridget Kline

Bridget Kline graduated from Rush Henrietta Senior High School in 2017. She went to Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio where she double majored in French Language Studies and Theatrical Design and Technology with a minor in Studio Art. She was also accepted into the Honor’s Program and the Honor’s in the Major Program. She studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France for the spring semester of her sophomore year.

Bridget was hired in the BW Costume shop at the beginning of her freshman year and she has served as shop foreperson for the past two years. During that time, she has served as stitcher, first hand, draper, assistant designer, and costume craftsperson. Her senior honors thesis involves being the head craftsperson for the spring mainstage production of Qui Nguyen’s She Kills Monsters. Bridget’s coursework has been varied and some of her favorite classes include: Problem Solving, Draping, Costume Crafts, Love in French Literature and Cinema, Introduction to Sculpture, French Theatre, and Art History: Renaissance to Present. She is the Events and Fundraising coordinator for BW’s chapter of the United States Institute of Theater Technology (USITT) and she is a member of French Club.

During her time at BW, Bridget completed three internships. She interned with the Oberlin Summer Theater Festival (OSTF), the Cincinnati Museum Center, and Great Lakes Theater Festival. At OSTF, Bridget worked as a costume intern, following three shows from build to strike. The three shows that ran in repertory, were Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Inge’s Picnic, and an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. At the Cincinnati Museum Center, Bridget worked as a costume shop intern and acted as shop manager. She spent the summer repairing, organizing, cleaning, and altering the costume stock used for historical interpretation events. Her closing event was 1940’s day, where she assisted numerous staff and interns to dress in period style. At Great Lakes, Bridget worked in the costume shop assisting with alterations and craftwork for the 2020 season. Her internship was unfortunately cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bridget is expected to graduate in May of 2021.
