Paramedical Scar camouflage is quite a new technique that hides scars by promoting collagen growth in the skin and also adding ink to hide any discoloration.This is a great procedure to have if you don't want tattoos but have visible scars that you would like to hide. This procedure often takes more than 2 sessions to work depending on the scar and the skin.Types of scars that we can hide:
Reasons we will not be able to do the procedure:Scars need to be healed for 1 year - 18 months before I can tattoo them. They need to be undamaged by the sun too.If you are breastfeeding or pregnant we will not be able to do the procedure. Although the chances of getting an infection are low, we do not want to risk the health of your child.If you have an immuno-suppressant disease or are undergoing chemotherapy or any other immuno-suppressant treatment. This is not a strict no, but we would need the ok from your doctor.The scars may be too big. Burn scars and skin graft scars might be too big of an area to tattoo, however I am always willing to try!
PLEASE NOTE: WHEN THE PROCEDURE IS FIRST DONE AND DURING THE HEALING PROCESS THE SCARS WILL LOOK VERY RED AND IRRITATED. IT CAN TAKE 2-3 MONTHS BEFORE THE FINAL RESULTS ARE SEEN.
After the session we will send you home with some aftercare instructions and some aftercare butter. These will have been explained to you during the consultation so you should already be familiar how the healing process works.
