Here are some things to note that might help those with disabilities.
Car parking: There is a car park no more than 20m away from the studio, there is no obstacles or steps on the way to the studio, apart from a 4cm step to the door.
Door width : We rent the space that we are in and sadly cannot make adjustments to the structure of the building. We would love for the doors to be wider, the main doors are 92cm, which we believe is fine to get a wheelchair through, the bathroom however is only 70cm. We are happy to help in any possible way if extra help is needed getting you inside.
Inside: Inside the studio is spacious and easy to move around. There is room on both sides of the tattoo chair to get on to it.
The bathroom is quite large but narrow, there should be enough room for someone with mobility issues to move around but not enough room to fit a wheelchair.
Tattoo chairs: We use massage beds that are 60cm wide for extra comfort. They take up to 250kg of weight.
Sensory issues and anxiety: Please make us aware of any sensory issues you have and how this affects you. If needed, we can book quieter times for you, when for instance the front door is locked so people aren't coming in and out. We can make time before your appointment date for you to visit the shop and meet us so you feel more comfortable on your appointment date. We like the shop to be a calm environment and hope you feel comfortable here.
Privacy: We have curtains for privacy so that we can shut out the rest of the shop if needed. You will not be asked to remove more clothing than necessary (we need up to 4cm of space around the tattoo) and we provide coverings for areas that you might not be comfortable showing, for extra security. If there is anything we can do to make you feel more secure please let us know before your appointment.
