Lip blush/ Permanent lip colour
PMU Lips or Lip blush has several different uses. Some people use it to fix asymmetrical lips. It is used to achieve the make up free make up look without needing to apply any makeup. It can be used to make the lips appear bigger without the need for invasive injections or operations. It is also used by people who like wearing lipstick but not the hassle for example; It comes off when eating, it gets on your teeth, it smudges and gets on your clothes, face or someone else’s face!
PMU lips can look as natural or unique as you like. During your consultation, we will talk about what you would like to get from your new lips, what kind of shape you would like to achieve and what colour you would like. You can opt for just lip liner, one flat colour or a combination of colours to give the lips more of an ombre or 3D effect.If you wish to have a less painful experience, you can buy some EMLA cream from the pharmacy to numb your lips. Although the procedure is bearable without numbing, the lips have quite a few nerve endings making this procedure a little uncomfortable. We do use a secondary numbing butter by Biotat, this although effective, does not fully numb the lips so it can be comfortable to numb them first. ALWAYS conduct an allergy test before using numbing creams. If you have an allergy to lidocaine or topical numbing creams, do not use it at all. We cannot legally supply numbing cream containing lidocaine. If you think you could manage without it, its best not to use it at all as numbing cream comes with risks.
On the day of your procedure, we will mark your lips to make sure they are the correct shape that you desire. Then you can lie back and relax whilst we do the procedure. It starts by lining the lips with a tiny needle to get the shape, then we pause and apply a secondary natural numbing butter by Biotat before continuing to the shading. The shading can take 2-3 passes before the colour is solid, in between each pass, we apply more Biotat cream.
PLEASE NOTE: WHEN THE PROCEDURE IS FIRST DONE AND DURING THE HEALING PROCESS, THE LIPS WILL LOOK MUCH DARKER THAN THEY WILL BE AFTER HEALING. THEY WILL SWELL AND MAY LOOK WONKY FOR THE FIRST 7 DAYS.LIP SKIN IS DIFFERENT TO OTHER SKIN AND CAN FADE CONSIDERABLY, NEEDING 1-2 TOUCH UP SESSIONS. FOR EXAMPLE, BRIGHT RED PIGMENTS CAN HEAL TO BE PINK AFTER THE FIRST SESSION.
After the session we will send you home with some aftercare instructions and some PMU lips aftercare butter.

After the first session, the pigment usually fades by around 50%.You may decide after the first session that you like the lips and do not wish for them to be changed, which is fine, but I encourage you to return just so I can check them over.After 8 - 12 months, the lip colour may fade and you may want to come back for another session to keep the colour up. This session is not included in the original price, but will be slightly less as there will already be pigment there and it will take less time.
