Year 7 Specialist Programme involves 2 blocks of 80 minutes per week for 5 weeks.
Your own headphones are essential to complete this course.
In class, students will learn basic Music Theory and play the Ukulele and the Keyboard using Garage Band's music computer software.
Students are required to complete practical music Keyboard lessons with a teacher using the computer programme Garage Band and a MIDI- keyboard. Gaining at least 60% allows students to continue to the next lesson.
Music Ecademy
Students are also required to pass Music Theory Beginner levels 1 and Aural Training Level 1 using the Music Ecademy website at musicecademy.com.
Working on the Music Ecademy website is a part of students' homework.
Students will start by learning 4 Ukulele chords Am, C, G, and F. This will allow them to play several popular songs like Shake it off, Counting Star, Count on Me and many more.
Student Achievement:
Completing a Ukulele performance task - students can receive an
A= Achieved. The student demonstrates a simple performance of the music and meets the expected standard.
M=Merit. The student shows confidence and performs a wider range of skills, including accurate reading and tempo above the expected standard.
E= Excellence. The student performs accurately and confidently with all aspects of the music.
Suppose a student receives a Not Achieved. We will work closely with that student to modify the programme to assist them in succeeding. If a student is experiencing difficulty, I will contact the parents at that time.
