Throughout this topic in component 2 of the GCSE curriculum you will look at physical, emotional and social health, fitness and wellbeing while also looking at the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle.
This will relate closely with the personal exercise plan (PEP) in component 4 and will give you an in depth insight as to why it is important for an athlete to lead a healthy active lifestyle.
Throughout this topic in component 2 of the GCSE curriculum you will look at classification of skills (open/closed, basic/complex) , low organisation/ high organisation, the use of goal setting and SMART goals to improve and/ or optimise performance , guidance and feedback on performance.
This will relate to elite athletes performance as well as health and performance of all humans.
Throughout this topic in component 2 of the GCSE curriculum you will look at engagement patterns of different social groups in physical activities and sport, commercialisation of physical activity and sport.
You will also look at the ethical issues and socio-cultural issues in physical activity. This will relate closely to health and performance for all athletes.
