Throughout this topic in component 1 of the GCSE curriculum you will look at the four main systems; musculo-skeletal, cardio-respiratory, aerobic and anaerobic exercise and the short/long term effect of exercises.
These all make up the anatomy and physiology of the body and you will learn how they all affect you and be able to know in depth knowledge on all of these areas.
Throughout this topic in component 1 of the GCSE curriculum you will look at the lever system as well as the planes and axis of movement.
This is fundamentally how the body works to move and allow your joints and limbs to move in the way they do.
While also looking at how the body rotates during activity to create power. You will look at these two sections in depth and be able to relate them to physical activity.
Throughout this topic on component 1 of the GCSE curriculum you will look at the different components of fitness, the principles of training, the effectiveness of warm ups and cool downs and the relationship between health and fitness.
These all make up physical training and all play a role in how an athlete trains and competes to their maximum. You will learn how they have an affect on the athlete and be able to know in depth knowledge on all of these areas.
