Finding the right people for a business continues to be a challenging task. This course highlights the many recruitment and hiring tools and resources that are available to restaurant leaders, as well as discusses the applicant journey in the restaurant, and how to optimize it.
1. Recognize what recruitment and onboarding tools RECIPE provides, and what the restaurant’s responsibilities are.
2. Locate recruitment and hiring tools and resources available through RECIPE.
3. Summarize a great applicant journey and how to implement this in the restaurant.
This course empowers restaurant leaders to understand the critical nature of their role in encouraging and facilitating a respectful workplace culture. Learners will discuss and examine ways in which they can promote a positive working environment that aligns to our policies and expectations.
1. Define and review the different types of workplace violence, harassment, sexual harassment, internet/cyber bullying, bullying and discrimination as per Recipe’s Respect In the Workplace policy (and/or ESA requirements)
2. Discuss ways to create and support a respectful workplace environment
3. Review the investigative process in situations where a complaint or incident occurs
4. Develop an action plan to foster a culture of respect in the workplace
Interview skills are important for any candidate to possess, but they are just as important for the hiring manager. A well known organization and competitive salary is no longer enough to secure top talent. Providing an overall positive candidate experience from the application stage to the onboarding stage is crucial in today’s world of work. This course focuses on the importance of developing exceptional interview skills and resources to ensure restaurants stand out to potential candidates.
1. Distinguish characteristics that add value to restaurants, departments and teams to assist in hiring the right people.
2. Perfect interviewing etiquette, virtually and in person, by following a proper interview flow and asking the right questions.
3. Develop effective interview questions to properly assess candidates’ skills and experience related to a position.
The demographic amongst workers in the food service sector has been seeing an increase of workers with temporary resident status. This course provides actionable ways managers can keep these teammates working within their restaurants and reduce turnover. We will be covering the terminology and building the foundation to understanding Canadian immigration that effects today's workforce. This course is a prerequisite to the Recruiting International Workers.
