Mandatory for all committee members. This website provides a list of training providers that have been approved by WorkSafeNB to deliver the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and Health and Safety Representative Educational Program.
Training providers can be approved for classroom-only training that consists of three days, or a minimum of 18 hours, of classroom-only training, or a blended training program that consists of five e-courses and one day of classroom instruction.

The goal of certification training is to give OH&S committee members and WH&S representatives the knowledge and skills required to fulfill their legislated duties and to support their internal responsibility system in preventing occupational injuries and illness, assessing and eliminating hazards, and enhancing health and safety performance.
OHS Committee, WHS Representative and Designate Certification Training – Level 1 is required for workplaces that employ less than 20 workers.
OHS Committee Member Certification Training – Level 2 is required for OHS committee members employed at workplaces that have 20 or more workers.

Provincial employers in Ontario employing 20 or more regularly employed workers must have a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) consisting of at least two certified members: one member representing workers and one member representing management. To become JHSC Certified, Part 1 and Part 2 need to be completed.

Obligatoire pour tous les membres du comité. La formation provinciale des comités de santé et de sécurité aidera les participants à élaborer, à mettre en œuvre et à surveiller les programmes de santé et de sécurité au travail.
