The Swinging Bridge
By Kaden and Jarrett
Kaden: Did you know that there was another bridge in Proctor besides the Marble bridge? It was called the Swinging Bridge.
Jarrett: The swinging bridge was located on the north side of the marble bridge. It was used to get people across otter creek that worked at the Marble company.
Kaden: The first bridge was built in 1889. It was destroyed because they needed a stronger one.
Jarrett: They built another one in 1912. The new bridge had a new floor, cement posts, and 7 guy wires so it would be stronger.
Kaden: It was destroyed in 1942 because it was useless because the Marble Bridge was there. Now there is nothing there.
