Mitchell- This is PES news.
Kaelyn- Reporting with Kaelyn and Mitchell.
Mitchell- Kaelyn, would it be cool if we could learn about Proctor?
Kaelyn- Yeah, let’s learn about Proctor. Did you know there were 2 hospitals in Proctor?
Mitchell- Actually, I know a lot about the hospitals. The first hospital was originally a house owned by F.P. Bartlett.
Kaelyn- That is cool to know. It was remodeled into a hospital in 1896.
Mitchell- It was located on 21 South Street and it was owned by the Marble Company.
Kaelyn- The first hospital could help 10 people at once.
Mitchell- The first hospital turned into the Proctor Inn and is now a house. Now for a commercial break.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kaelyn - Welcome back after that quick commercial break.
Mitchell - There is more that we have to share about the hospitals.
Kaelyn- After the first hospital shut down, a new hospital took its place 8 years later in 1904. The second hospital was located on Ormsbee Avenue.
Mitchell- The new hospital had a grand opening for an operating room.
Kaelyn- The hospital was made out of wood, brick and stone.
Mitchell- The hospital was 22 ft tall. The second hospital was around until 1973.
Kaelyn - The second hospital was torn down.
Kaelyn and Mitchell - That is all we have today. See you later on PES news
