This presentation will focus on the following:
A review of the RCSD 20-21 ELA Guidance Delivery Document. It will take teachers on a step by step guided process through the ELA delivery of content in a virtual learning environment for both synchronous and asynchronous teaching and learning.
It will also make important connections for teachers between the RCSD Next Generation Curriculum, Common Formative Assessments (CFA’s) and our primary curricular resource, MyView/MiVision.
We will provide guidance on how to unpack and unwrap standards to generate a weekly plan overview of all needed Balanced Literacy components in order to grow proficient readers and writers.
Learning Targets:
I will understand the RCSD ELA Guidance Delivery Document and how it will be used to provide high quality synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
I will understand the importance of prioritizing content to accelerate learning by using backwards planning as it relates to the grade level Common Formative Assessments.
I can explain the connections between the RCSD Next Generation Curriculum, our MyView/MiVision Curriculum Resource, and Bilingual Literacy (as applies).
I will understand how to unpack the standards in our RCSD Curriculum to collaboratively create a weekly overview plan that incorporates all needed aspects of Balanced Literacy using our primary curricular resource, MyView/MiVision.
