The session will review the RCSD 20-21 Grades 6-8 ELA/SLA/ENL Guidance Delivery Documents. It will make important connections for teachers between the RCSD Next Generation Priority Standards, Scope and Sequence, and Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) in ELA and SLA. Teachers will learn about delivery of content in a virtual learning environment for both synchronous and asynchronous teaching and learning. We will provide guidance on how to unpack and unwrap standards to generate a weekly plan overview of all needed Balanced Literacy components in order to grow proficient intermediate grades readers and writers.
Learning Targets:
I understand the importance of prioritizing content to accelerate learning by using backwards planning as it relates to the grade level CFAs.
I understand the relationship between priority standards, common formative assessments (CFAs) and curriculum resources.
I understand the RCSD ELA/SLA/ENL Delivery Guidance Documents and how they can be used to deliver high quality synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
