Rod Davis is a former professional football linebacker who made a name for himself with both his athleticism and leadership on the field. He played college football at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned All-American honors and was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year in 2002. He also won the Conerly Trophy as the best college football player in Mississippi.
He was selected in the 5th round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Davis spent time in the NFL with the Vikings, Carolina Panthers, before continuing his career in the Arena Football where he won a championship. He completed his professional career in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with teams including the Edmonton Eskimos, Montreal Alouettes, and Calgary Stampeders. Overall, he played nine years of professional football.
After retiring from professional football, Davis returned to Mississippi and transitioned into coaching. He coached at Northwest Rankin High School for four years prior to becoming the head coach for the Florence Eagles. He will begin his seventh season this fall.
Rod is happily married to his wife, Blossom, and has three sons: Mekhi, R.J., and Bryan.
Russ Pate is entering his 7th year teaching and coaching at Florence High School. He has previously been serving as the offensive line coach and will begin his first season as offensive coordinator and head coach for the boys powerlifting team. Prior to coming to Florence, he held teaching and coaching positions at Raleigh High School and Grenada High School.
Coach Pate earned his degree from Belhaven University where he also played college football. He is married to his wife, Amanda, and has two sons: Clay and Reed.
Michael Collins currently serves as the Defensive Coordinator at Florence High School. A proud graduate of Clinton High School and Delta State University, Coach Collins brings a wealth of experience to his role.
Coach Collins began his coaching career at Clarksdale High School, where he played an integral role in securing the 2001 state championship. He then spent two years at Pascagoula High School as Defensive Coordinator, further honing his skills. His next professional chapter took him to the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky, where he served as Defensive Coordinator for eight years. Under his leadership, the team won the conference championship five times and made six playoff appearances, culminating in a second-place national ranking in 2013.
Following his tenure at the University of the Cumberlands, Coach Collins spent five years at Mississippi College as Defensive Coordinator.
Now entering his fifth year at Florence High School, Coach Collins has found a home within the school community. He notes, “I have found a wonderful school, where the people and environment are second to none.”
Coach Collins and his wife, Pamela, are the proud parents of five children.
Coach Casey Henderson serves as the Linebackers Coach and Head Archery Coach at Florence High School. Now in his second year with the Eagles, Coach Henderson brings seven years of coaching experience and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
A proud graduate of Carthage High School and the University of Southern Mississippi, Henderson is known for his emphasis on fundamentals, discipline, and character. Whether on the football field or at the archery range, his coaching philosophy centers around building confidence, accountability, and leadership in his athletes.
Coach Henderson is married to his wife, Kayla, and they have two daughters, Stella and Hannah Jo.

With 17 years of dedicated coaching experience, Coach Corby Jacobs brings passion, expertise, and commitment to the football field. Alongside his impressive 17½ years as an educator, Coach Jacobs has positively impacted countless student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field. He is deeply committed to developing not only skilled players but also strong leaders and team players.
Coach Jacobs is married to Corrie Jacobs, and together they have three wonderful children.
Coach Reis is a retired U.S. Air Force cargo handler and recruiter who now brings his passion for discipline, leadership, and teamwork into the classroom and onto the field. He earned his Master of Arts in Teaching from Belhaven University and is currently in his fourth year of teaching. Coach Reis is entering his third year coaching the Florence Eagle football team and proudly serves as the head coach of the girls powerlifting team. He and his wife—who has been teaching kindergarten for nearly 20 years—are the proud parents of four children.
Coach Kevin Williams brings 18 years of passion, dedication, and experience to the game of football. Currently serving as the Receivers Coach, he has built a reputation for developing well-rounded athletes—both on and off the field. A Florence, Mississippi native, Coach Williams began his football journey as a defensive back at Florence High School before continuing his playing career at East Mississippi Community College and Belhaven University. He earned an associate degree in liberal arts from East Mississippi and a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. His love for the game naturally transitioned into coaching, where he has guided players at McLaurin High School, Canton High School, and Florence High School. Over his career, Coach Williams has contributed to significant program success, helping secure three district championships, seven playoff appearances at Florence, and three playoff appearances at McLaurin. He has been recognized twice as part of the Coaching Staff of the Year.
Coach Williams specializes in coaching defensive backs and receivers, using his deep understanding of the game to inspire athletes to reach their fullest potential. His coaching philosophy centers on discipline, teamwork, dedication, selflessness, and leadership. He works to instill in his players the value of perseverance, teaching them never to give up and to work hard toward their goals. To him, football is more than a sport; it’s an opportunity to mold young men into leaders who will succeed long after the final whistle. Outside of football, Coach Williams has dedicated 18 years to education, teaching Mississippi Studies, World Geography, and Physical Education. He is a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and proudly calls Florence, Mississippi, home. He shares his life with his wife, Courtney, and their eight-year-old daughter, Lauren Williams.
Coach Dice will be entering his first year at Florence High School and will be coaching football and baseball. This will be his 10th year teaching and coaching.
Coach Dice is a graduate of USM and William Carey University. He is a two time state football champion as both a coach and player. He and his wife Katie have two children, Deak (10) and Brinley Kate (2).
