PROJECTE AQUARI - Cicle biològic del Planorbis corneus

Mentrestant, vam fer el "cicle biològic" del Planorbis corneus. El "cicle de la vida" comença amb un ou (normalment, posen de 10 a 20 ous).

Llavors neixen i comencen a alimentar-se. La gran majoria de cargols són herbívors, però també n'hi ha de carnívors. Els herbívors s'alimenten d'algues i els carnívors es menjaven a cargols d'altres espècies. El que hem possat al nostre aquari es hervíbor.

Com a curiositat, només tenen una dent, que rep el nom de Ràdula.

Meanwhile, we did the "Biological Cycle" of the Planorbis Corneus. The life cycle starts with an egg (they normally put between 10 and 20 eggs).

They are born and they start eating. The majority of snails are herbivorous, but there are some carnivorous. The herbivorous eat algae. The carnivorous feed themselves with snails from other species. The ones in our aquarium are herbivorous.

As a curiosity, they only have one teeth, it's name is Radula.

Ous: Els cargols ponen bastants ous, i aquests estan embolicades en un líquid transparent.
Cria: Presenten una petxina discoidal i aplanada. Poden haver de diferents colors: marrons, blaus, daurats, vermells i roses. Tenen al cap diferenciat amb un únic parell d'antenes, i el peu és de contorn arrodonit. Poden arribar als 2 cm.
Adult: La seva esperança de vida és relativament curta, arribant a viure entre 2 o 3 anys, depenent de la temperatura a la qual se'ls mantingui. Amb temperatures càlides l'esperança de vida és menor, mentre que en aigües fredes augmenta.
Reproducció: Realitzen les posades en una massa gelatinosa rodona adherida als vidres i plantes. A mesura que avança el temps dins de la massa s'aniran definint ous que aniran adquirint un to més groguenc i opac, per finalment deixar veure als petits poc abans d'eclosionar.

Eggs: The snails put a lot of eggs, and this are wrapped in a transparent liquid.
Baby: They have a flattened shell that seems like a disc. There can be different colours: brown, blue, gold, red and pink. We can tell the difference by their pair of antennas and their rounded foot. They can be extended up to 2cm.
Adult: Their life expectancy is really short, they can live between 2 and 3 years, depending on the temperature they are in. With warm temperatures the life expectancy is shorter, meanwhile they live more in cold water.
Reproduction: They put their eggs inside a round kind of gelatin that sticks to the glass and the plants. As time goes by, inside the eggs inside the gelatin are going to have a more yellow-ish colour and opaque, to finally see the baby snails before they are born.
