Built around 1830, Riddle Block 5 was once home to Merts & Riddle Hearse and Carriage Company. Built by architect P.L. Frank, it is one of the oldest buildings in downtown Ravenna.

Originally home to Clark Carriage Works, Mertz & Riddle Co., Good Year Tire Co., the Army Barracks, and the William Kading Agency. P.L Frank was the original architect.
There were two fires that led to many of the structural changes that happened to the building.
