You must:

        • Complete the planning ‘Basic Response to Text Template’

        • Use an ‘Adverb’ and ‘W-Start’ sentence in each paragraph

Response Structure

Paragraph 1: ‘Multipurpose Introduction’ (100 words)

• • Write your ‘Response’ statement where it says ‘Argument’

Paragraphs 2: ‘Lawyer’ or ‘Slam Dunk’ paragraph (150 words)

• • Analyse texts here

    • Who cares? Why does this matter? What is the impact on the: audience, mood, character, plot? Message? Theme?

  • Make links (compare and contrast to my life/world/other texts)

  • If possible (MERIT) discuss author’s crafting and use the sentence:

    • ‘These elements/techniques combine together to create a mood/tone of _________ which helps develop the author’s idea or __________ or purpose to _________”

Paragraph 3: Any style (Optional for Merit: ‘Convincing’)
