Welcome to the Wagner Friday Family Flyer! Each week, this flyer will come out with information about upcoming events, school information, wildcats of the week, campus highlights and more. There's also helpful links at the bottom. Go, Wildcats!
Each week teachers highlight one student in their class who is exemplifying one or more of the wildcat ways. Each student has their name announced and picture shown in our weekly video assembly, receives a certificate, gets a ticket for a free donut from Donut Chain (alternatives available if allergies!), and has their picture shared in the Wagner Friday Family Flyer. Let's hear it for these Wildcats of the Week!
We had another great attendance week! Our trickiest attendance days do tend to be Mondays. See all of you on Monday!
All across our state and country, schools convene School Site Councils made up of parents, teachers, other staff, and/or community members and help the school review budgets, provide advice guidance to the school, and generally try to make the school the best place it can possibly be for all of our students.
It's time to vote for our parents to represent on school site council. All Wagner parents and guardians are invited to vote for their representatives at Wagner.
Please take a moment to read about each of our candidates below. We currently have four open parent spaces on the School Site Council, so you can vote for up to four candidates.
Ballots will be open between now and Sunday, September 27th.
Tara Crone
Tara has one child in third grade and has been a part of the Wagner community for four years. She would like to see our community grow.
Anthony Delgado
Anthony has one child in TK and is in his first year as a part of the Wagner community. He would like to help the council develop its plan to ensure that students benefit from the school. He can provide expertise as a research analyst at a community college. He works in institutional research and helps his college with strategic plans, review data, and provides feedback on implementing ideas.
Elizabeth Lucin
Elizabeth has one child in kindergarten and is in her third year as a part of the Wagner community. She is passiionate about growing this community and bettering our school for years to come. She has loved her time at Wagner and wants nothing more than to give back and support this special place. Sharing ideas, advocating for all, helping our kids have the best school ever - she's in!
Leo Rodriguez
Leo has one child in first grade and one child in Wagner Preschool and has been a part of the Wagner community since fall 2025. He loves being active and involved in his children's lives. He'd like the opportunity to have a voice in their education and help shape a positive learning environment for them and the other children at Wagner. He's willing to listen, aske questions, speak up when needed, and work with parents and staff to help make our school the best it can be for our kids.
We've had a surge in the number of lunches being dropped off for our wildcats. In order to minimize classroom interruptions, please see our guidelines below.
If you are going to drop off something for your child, please let them know to check the office at lunch or recess.
For TK-1, we will take items to them at recess. For 2nd-6th, students will need to come get their items at recess or lunch.
Worried they won't know to come? Let them know to check the office if you will typically be able to bring it to them.
Students growing responsibility is part of learning, but even then sometimes mornings are just hard. We understand and want to help, but also appreciate us all working together to limit phone calls to the classrooms.
Birthdays are a special time for many of our students! Some families choose to drop off a special lunch for their child. That's fine, but please only bring for your child. We love that so many families want to share with others, but it does cause some issues on campus (needing to check with other parents if they are allowed, navigating who is getting one and who isn't, etc). Thank you for supporting!
Preschool Light Owls Light Exploration
Little Owls disvoered the magic of light and color with hands on exploration. We love seeing them observe, wonder, explore, and problem solve during preschool play.
Kinder Learning Centers
How do you learn to read and write? With lots of direct instruction, guided practice, and opportunities to try and try again! Our kinders do that every single day in their learning centers.
First Grade Leafologists
First graders took their science outside the classroom and studied the leaves that they found around campus!
Apple Day in Second Grade
Apple juice, apple cider, apple sauce, apples, taste tests, oh my! Second graders dove into apple day together. Do you know which apple is most popular in second grade? Look below to find out!
6th Grade Ancient Culture Gallery Walk
Students in 6th grade learn about ancient cultures from around the world as a part of social studies. They created displays for some of their learning and enjoyed a gallery walk looking at their classmates' projects as well.
Facilities Master Planning Student Reps
We are so proud of our 6th grade student representatives. We had four amazing 6th graders represent the student community in a facilities master planning meeting. They gathered information from fellow students about what campus improvements would make the most impact on the student experience and communicated with an architect team and district facilities leadership (along with several staff members and parent voices as well). Great job to Bailey, Dean, Corinne, and Clarissa!
Say Cheese!
Did your wildcat smile? You'll have to wait for pictures to come back to see. In the meantime, enjoy some of these possibilities, courtesty of third grade.
