Swamp White Oak

Easily distinguished by the combination of toothed leaves that are whitish and felty beneath, a long fruit stalk and typically wetland to moist habitat.

In March, 2022 during the dedication of Lenape Arboretum, PVSD hosted the largest gathering of Lenape people in Pennsylvania in the last 200 years. Some of the Lenape posed for a photo under a 327 year old Swamp White Oak that is located on the Perkiomen Trail.
