Black Haw
Viburnum prunifolium
A large shrub or small tree recognized by the combination of opposite, finely toothed leaves that lack spots beneath, a petiole lacking rusty hairs, blocky bark, and a stalkless inflorescence.
In Lenape culture small bands of bark are boiled and strained and the tea taken to cure stomach cramps.
