We hope this message finds you enjoying the start of summer vacation. It was an absolute pleasure to meet the majority of our future sixth graders on Move-Up Day.  We’re really looking forward to working with them!

Here is some pertinent information to know about sixth grade.

PILOTS Leadership Program

As you may be aware, your sixth grader will be participating in Sonoran Sky's unique PILOTS program. PILOTS was developed as a means for Preparing Individuals for Leadership Opportunities To Succeed. We work to provide opportunities for students to succeed/excel academically, socially, and emotionally.  We instruct and coach our sixth graders to step into leadership roles, beginning as leaders on our campus.  Our ultimate goal is to help prepare our students for the years that lie ahead. 

Our sixth graders begin their leadership training off campus, quite early in the school year, to establish the groundwork for our PILOTS program, prior to its implementation on campus.  September 2-5, 2025 has been set aside for this purpose. The training will be held at Chapel Rock in Prescott, Arizona.  The estimated cost of the trip is $250.00.

Volunteering/Chaperoning 

We appreciate those who have already expressed an interest in volunteering during the 2025-2026 school year.  If you would like to be considered as a chaperone for ANY of our field trips, fingerprint clearance and a background check is required. If you have not already registered online through the PV Schools system, please do so ASAP.

Parent chaperones are an important member of our PILOTS training. Chaperones must be able to attend the entire retreat (four days and three nights).  Chaperone selection will occur in early August.
