Data Governance & Cyber Security Task Force (DGCSTF)

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance the value, quality, security, and understanding of institutional data and cyber resources through coordinated efforts of PV stakeholders. The program will protect institutional data and cyber resources through planning, execution and continual oversight of relevant policies, practices, and projects.

Towards that end, PV practices privacy, confidentiality, integrity, availability and security with data and information.

Privacy requires delineation of data/information classes, ranging from public use to sensitive.

Confidentiality defines what employee roles are allowed to access which data on a need to know basis.

Integrity instills accuracy of data in serving the purpose of collection and analysis.

Availability requires that data is available to those intended in a reliable delivery and format.

Security involves the people, processes and technologies used to safeguard data in transit, use and rest.

About

PVSchools has increasingly incorporated new technologies into school programs, curricula, and operations. These technologies make it possible to tailor learning to individual students and make education altogether more collaborative and engaging. However, as technology becomes more prevalent in schools, additional responsibilities fall on all of us to ensure that the data generated from these new programs is collected, used, and stored in a responsible manner.
