Beekeeper's Corner:
Message from the Principal                 

Dear Parents and Guardians:  

Happy Spring! 

Please don't forget to check out our page below of upcoming important events or check out VP's yearly calendar that is accessible in the link above. Please see information below regarding many exciting events this month such as Field Day, Teddy Bear Day, Josh the Otter, Book Fair, Grandparents' Night and more! 

VP's Field Day for K/1 students will be on May 8th. First Grade will report to the field from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and Kindergarten will report to the field from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Please see more information sent home from your child's teacher. If attending, please meet your child's class on the field. 

For Grandparent's Day, please see flyer being sent home soon. Preschool and Kindergarten will be on May 13th from 5:00-6:15 p.m. and First Grade will be on May 13th from 6:30-7:45 p.m. 

Kindergarten students will be enjoying Josh the Otter, a summer water safety program on May 29th. Special thanks to the Pennsville Rotary, Rocky's Tees, Wyshinski's Bus Service, and the PMHS Interact Club for donating their time and resources to sponsor this event. Students will receive a t-shirt, book, and sticker and will enjoy a special presentation.  

Don't forget! There will be no school on May 27th for Memorial Day.

Clothing Donations: Nurse's Office

Our nurse's office is currently in need of clothing donations for students who may need an emergency change of clothes during the school day, especially pants or shorts. 

If you are interested in donating any children's clothing, please send them in to school or drop them off at the main office.

OPEN HOUSE: Book Fair and Art Fair Family Night 

Valley Park's Book Fair/Art Fair Family Night Open House will be on Wednesday, May 15th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Please join us any time between 5:30-7:00 p.m. to visit the Book Fair in the Library, tour the hallways to see our students' artwork from this school year, and enjoy a craft in the cafeteria. Please look for information sent home from your child's teacher.

K/1 Bee Reading Challenge Raffle Winners

Congratulations to our Reading Challenge Raffle Winners! Students who completed one Reading Challenge Form were entered in our Raffle. Students won a special prize to Rita's Water Ice! We are SO PROUD of our students who participated and amazed at how many books were read. Keep up the GREAT WORK!

This app will allow you to receive push notifications on your phone.  
You can keep up on all of the important events at Valley Park! To get the app, you can search for "Pennsville School District" or you can go to PSDNET.ORG to find more information, including a how to video. With the app, you will be able to access the "Live Feed" that has school updates and information, access daily lunch menus, contact staff, and more! More information can be found HERE.

Education Foundation


The Ed Foundation is the district-wide Parent and Teacher group that assists with activities and events at the schools.   Meetings are held in the library at Valley Park School.  More information is available at www.psdnet.org.  Please join us to hear about and help with all the wonderful things we have planned for our schools!

Little Lending Library

Valley Park's Little Library is located in the front of the school near the marquis. Please feel free to come to swap books, give books no longer being used, or come pick out a book to borrow and return.  There are books for all ages! All are welcome to enjoy and we hope you stop by!

 Student attendance is very important for student success. To get more information regarding procedures to notify the school of your student's absence as well as attendance policies, including attendance policies during the pandemic this school year, please click on the link below. Thank you!

Change of Clothes


Sometimes accidents happen and a change of clothes can really help! Please send a change of clothes, especially a set of underwear and pants if your child is attending in person. Please put clothing in a baggie labeled with your child's name and replace as needed when soiled clothing is sent home. Thank you!  

Student Breakfast and Lunches 


  • Completion of Free/Reduced forms will be required for preschool and strongly encouraged for K/1. Thank you! 
  • Menus are available at www.psdnet.org and more information is available HERE
  • Metz payments for snacks:  cash, check, or  schoolcafe.com:  Student ID number from PowerSchool is needed. A  fee is charged by the company. Please contact the main office for assistance accessing PowerSchool.  
  • Cost of breakfast is located on the website. Free and reduced prices also apply.


PRESCHOOL: 
  • Preschool breakfast will be served during school hours. Please see further information from your preschool teacher.


KINDERGARTEN/FIRST GRADE:
  • K/1 Breakfast is available before school or in the classroom after arrival. Due to limitations in the classroom, participation before school by those not riding a bus is strongly encouraged. A limited selection is available in the classroom, but students must "Opt-In" to have breakfast delivered to the classroom daily at arrival. To Opt- In, please complete the form  HERE or contact your child's teacher or the main office. Please contact the main office or your child's teacher if you would like to make any changes after you complete the form, otherwise your student will be provided with a breakfast daily in the classroom. *This form only needs to be completed once for your student to have breakfast in the classroom daily. 
  • K/1 students, especially those who do not ride a bus to school, are strongly encouraged to attend the Before School Breakfast Program. Entrance is from 8:25 a.m.-8:40 a.m. and no sign up form is needed. If arriving after 8:25, please ring the buzzer at the door to let the staff know that your student has arrived.  Students must eat breakfast to participate before school.
