Workshop on Future of AI and NEP 2020 by the Lions Club of Vasai Unique

A workshop on the Future if AI and NEP 2020 was organised by the college in collaboration with The Lions Club of Vasai Unique. The resource person for the session was Ms. Surekha Bhosle Deshmukh. Ms. Sureka highlighted on the rapid advacement of AI and how NEP 2020 aims to embrace AI into teaching and learning.  She demonstrated various applications of AI that can be integrated by teachers to make learning more engaging and child-centric.

Workshop on Art and Craft

A workshop on Art and Craft was conducted for the students on 18th August 2026. Ms. Prachi Raut, an expert in this regards guided the students on how to create simple and handy paper flowers for decoration using minimal material, the session was hand on and provided practical experience to the students, thus helping them create their own Art. 

Webinar on Different boards of School Education

Orientation sessions was conducted  on 3rd July 2026 and 21st July 2026to familiarize students with the functioning of various Boards of School Education. 

The resource persons for the webinar were:

Ms. Natasha P: English and Literature Teacher at Chatrabhuj Narsee High School, IGCSE Mumbai

Ms Grenil Dsa: Secondary Coordinator at Asmita International, Mumbai 

Ms. Sophie Dabreo: Principal at Issac Newton Global School, CBSE Vasai

Ms. Calista Dmello: Math Teacher at Singapore International School, IGCSE Mumbai 

The students were introduced to the curriculum, assessment procedures, and distinctive features of CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, and IB board of Education. The sessions highlighted the key characteristics and academic approaches of each board, providing students with a clear understanding of their respective systems and methods of assessment.

Visit to National English High School and Seminar on charged classrooms

The students visited the National English High School, ICSE, Virar on 7th April 2026 for the innovative school visit getting insight on their innovative approach of utilizing the school corridors and empty walls with meaningful engagement for student engagement. The visit was followed by a session on charged classroom by Mr. Sreeyansh Shetty, Coordinator, who conducted a session on game based learning for the student teachers, thus providing strategies on how to make learning interesting and engaging. 

Vedic Mathematics: Reviving India’s Ancient Wisdom through IKS

A session on Vedic maths was conducted for the students on 20th March 2026. Dr. Cindrella Dmello, Porfessor at STIE, Santacruz oriented the students to the basic rules and concepts of Vedic Maths based on arithmetic operations and BODMAS. The session was practical and involved the students in solving problems using the rules from Vedic Math. 

Session on women’s wellness and nutrition

A seminar on Women’s wellness and nutrition was organized on the account of International Women’s Day on 6th March 2026. Dr. Sharon, a renowned expert in this field addressed the health issues of teenage adults precisely, those in the profession of teaching. She emphasized on having a healthy balanced diet and importance of physical and mental wellness. 

Seminar on POSH and POCSO- Ensuring safe schools and safe teachers 

A session on POSH and POCSO was organized for the students and the faculty members on 4th March 2026, to orient them to the rules and regulations regarding child safety and protection in school. Mrs. Smita Lopes has worked with several NGOs and Schools. She provided valuable inputs to the students as future teachers on how to deal with the various issues associated with the students. 

Session on AI in Education Ms. Sweedal Colaco

Developing Effectiveness and learning to use AI in classroom is the need of the hour. Ms. Sweedal Colaco an expert in this field with a diverse experience in teaching conducted an enriching workshop for the students on 27th February 2026, which was based on hands on and practical learning how to use various applications like NotebookLM, Canva and many more that not only help reduce the burden but also  make  teaching process effective and engaging.

Session on dealing with mental stress 

The Flamingo foundation conducted a session for the students on 25th February  2026on the topic dealing with peer pressure, challenges of teenagers and the growing concerns of mental health amongst the youth. They addressed the role of our students as future teachers as facilitators for the young generation.

Session on Student Awareness programme

Shri Ashok Sherkar along with his team members from the Zhilla Samanya Rugnalaya Palghar conducted a session for our students on 25th February 2026. Since majority of our students are females, the resource persons addressed the various concerns of female health. They provided the necessary helpline numbers from the government wherein they can seek help and guidance. The session was an insightful experience for the students.

Session on Effective Chalkboard practices

Effective utilization of the Black Board is a must classroom practice. It creates healthy engagement amogst the teachers and the learners. Ms Venecia Naik, an experienced teacher at St. Augustine's Secondary High School, Vasai (W) served as a resource person for the session on  31st January 2026. She provided strategies on how to effectively use the BB as a tool to conceptualize and summarize the content.  The session was insightful and a good learning experience for the students. 

Session on Value Based Education –Mulyvavardhan 

The NEP 2020 and the NCF 2023 emphasizes on developing holistic values amongst students. The government aims to create this awareness amongst teachers. There are training sessions organized for the government school teachers across the state. Ms. Shonal Colaco has served as the resource person for these sessions. She conducted a brief session on 20th December 2025 for our students as well on Value based Education and its implementation. 

Session on Navigating interviews

Ms. Sanika Asolkar conducted a session on 19th November 2025 on the Toic  "Navigating interviews" as an initiative of Placement Drive. She guided the students on having a positive mindset and approach towards any organization. How to answer efficiently. And factors the recruiter looks for in a candidate. The session was helpful for the students who are in the process of seeking placements. 

Webinar on Effective CV writing and creating a LinkedIn profile

Dr. Mildred Dabreo, Mathematics Educator at a reputed institution conducted a session on 8th November 2025 for the students who are in the process of searching for job opportunities. She guided them on to construct an effective CV and build connections and networking through LinkedIn. Her inputs were helpful and valuable to the students. 

Workshop on Art and Craft

A workshop on Art and craft was organized for the students on 11th October 2025. Our F.Y.B.Ed student. Ms. Latisha Dsouza volunteered to be the resource person for the workshop. She guided her peers through hand on experience. The students created beautiful pieces of Art work under the guidance of Ms. Latisha.

Session on Environmental and Wildlife protection

Mr. Lisbon Ferrao, an environmental enthusiast, conducted a session on 7th October 2025 on  "Environmental and Wildlife Protection". He emphasized on keeping the environment clean to maintain a healthy ecological balance. He urged to students to join his movement to clean and create a better living place for all. 

Seminar on cyber-bullying and cyber-awareness

The students of F.Y.B.Ed and S.Y.B.Ed attended a seminar on 4th October 2025 on the topic "creating awareness on cybercrime and cyber bullying".  The representatives of MAHA Police oriented the students and created awareness regarding cyber crimes and cyber bullying. They provided necessary guidance on can be how to prevent and seek help in case of a crime. The representatives provided the helplines numbers that can be contacted for help. 

Session on Classroom Management skills

Mrs. Ranjeeta Gomes conducted a session on Classroom Management for the students on 18th September 2025. The session was insightful and helpful as the students were in their internship phase, the guidance and strategies for effective classroom management helped them plan and execute their lessons in a much meaningful way.

Session on  Mental Wellness

An interactive session was conducted for the students on 3rd September 2025, aimed  creating awareness on issues related to Mental Health. Dr. Leeyan Dias, a senior psychologist and a renowned expert addressed the key issues pertaining to Mental Health of the students. She provided with strategies on how to tackle work stress and maintain a healthy balance.
