From tracking progress in Scoutbook to understanding adventures and advancement, your involvement plays a vital role in making Cub Scouting meaningful and successful. When parents stay engaged, scouts thrive, grow, and get the most out of every opportunity. We’re here to help you stay informed, involved, and inspired every step of the way.
Scoutbook is the official online tool used to track your scout’s advancement, communicate with leaders, and stay up to date on pack activities. It’s a vital resource for families to stay connected and involved in their scout’s journey.
Parents should:
Keep their contact information (email and phone number) current to avoid missing important updates.
Regularly check their scout’s advancement progress and help them stay on track with requirements.
Encourage their scout to share what they’ve completed, especially if they miss a meeting.
Log any additional electives or adventures completed at home—Scoutbook makes it easy!
Staying active in Scoutbook helps ensure your scout gets the most out of their Cub Scouting experience.
Adventures are the core of the Cub Scout program—hands-on activities and learning experiences designed to help scouts grow in character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Each rank (based on grade level) has a set of required and elective adventures that guide scouts through fun, age-appropriate challenges.
Adventures were developed by Scouting America to align with the values of the Scout Oath and Law, while also encouraging exploration, creativity, and skill-building. They cover a wide range of topics—from outdoor skills and science to teamwork and community service.
Families can view adventure requirements in the Cub Scout handbooks, through Scoutbook, or online by clicking here.
