Cub Scouting is a team effort—and we need you! Whether you're leading a den, helping with events, or supporting behind the scenes, there's a place for everyone. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to help and a heart for kids. All leaders complete a background check and Safeguarding Youth training to ensure a safe environment for our scouts. Volunteering is a great way to connect with your child, build community, and make a lasting impact.
All leaders are required to complete Safeguarding Youth training and position-specific training to ensure they’re prepared and confident in their roles. These trainings are available online, can be completed at your own pace, and are designed to be practical and easy to follow. If you’re helping with outdoor activities, Hazardous Weather Training is also required. Training is flexible, accessible, and sets you up for success—whether you're leading a den or helping with pack events.
For those looking to deepen their skills and confidence, we offer in-person training opportunities that are both fun and rewarding.
BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is required for at least one adult on any overnight pack campout and covers camping basics, safety, and outdoor fun.
Wood Badge is Scouting’s premier leadership course, offering advanced team-building and leadership development in a supportive, camp-style setting.
These trainings are not just educational—they’re energizing, inspiring, and a great way to connect with other leaders.
You’re never on your own in Cub Scouting. Leaders have access to a wide range of resources, including online training at my.scouting.org, handbooks, planning guides, and mentorship from experienced volunteers. Our pack leadership team and local council are here to support you every step of the way. Leadership in Cub Scouts is team-based, flexible, and fun—and we’re here to help you succeed.
Meet some of our leaders
Sean grew up in Wyoming enjoying the outdoors through camping, hiking, and skiing. He became involved with the pack in 2021 as a Den Leader and now serves as Cubmaster. Two of his four children are currently active in the program.
He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and brings a strong belief in the value of Scouting as a way to teach essential life skills, build character, and develop future leaders. He’s especially passionate about helping youth grow through hands-on experiences and positive mentorship.
Kim grew up in New York with a love for the outdoors—camping, hiking, and canoeing with her family. She began her Scouting journey in graduate school as an Ecology & Conservation Director at a camp in the Adirondacks. Since 2018, she’s been active with Pack 75, becoming a den leader in 2021 and now serving as Assistant Cubmaster.
Kim and her husband enjoy sharing outdoor adventures with their two sons, both Scouts, and she’s passionate about helping youth grow through Scouting.
Ryan grew up in Florida and entered Scouting as a Tiger in the Cub Scout program. His early scouting memories included an "invention convention," building Pinewood Derby cars with his dad, and learning elaborate and seaworthy knots from a ship captain den parent. He feels both indebted to and inspired by the many parents and volunteers that powered the scouting program through his journey to Eagle.
Now, he has three children active in Scouting America programs across one pack and two troops. In Pack 75, he currently serves as Committee Chair.
