Children need to return their library book each week so they can bring a new one home in day. their book bag. Book bags need to be at school each day.

P.E.                        

Room 24 & Room 28 have P.E. each Thursday. Children also have daily Fitness & other timetabled opportunities for PE. 

During Term 1, our focus is Aquatics & Water Safety. Our swimming days are Tuesdays & Thursdays for the duration of Term 1.

Team Assemblies  

Team- Friday 10am in auditorium even weeks. Each class will host some Assemblies throughout the year. We will let you know when your child' class is hosting so you can come along. We will also let you know if your child is receiving a special certificate so you have the option to attend.

Whole school- Friday 9am odd weeks in the auditorium.

Everyone is welcome at Team and Whole School Assemblies.

Home Learning        

Our main focus in Year 1 is learning our letter names and sounds, sight words, counting and reading. Children will bring home a variety of reading material each week. This will include a daily reader, shared readers, seen & favourite readers, a library book and a Poem or published story. Please check your child's book-bag daily and return it to school for the following day. Children bring home their Poem/Publishing book on Friday- please ensure that it is returned to school each Monday.  Children need to return their book bags to school each day. If your child doesn't have a reader it might be because they didn't return their book bag to school or they forgot to put their reader in their book bag. If you have any questions about this, please contact your classroom teacher. 

Hats 

During Term 1 Hats are to be worn every day when outside. We recommend that you personalise your child's hat for them so they can recognise it easily. A badge or a ribbon helps your child to know that it is theirs. Children do need to wear the Pt Chevalier School hat not one from home. These can be purchased from the office.
