Palawan State University receives Php 25M Grant for Smart Campus ProjectPress Release | July 2, 2021In an effort to strengthen the University’s development into a Smart Campus, Palawan State University, under the leadership of its University President, Dr. Ramon M. Docto, inked a Memorandum of Agreement with the Commission on Higher Education, staunchly led by its Chairman J. Prospero De Vera III (Prof Popoy De Vera), for a grant of Php 25 Million to fund Project I-Connect: Integrated Campus Online Network Navigation and Enterprise-Connect Technology (I-CONNECT).
This project, developed by the University’s IT experts led by ICTO Director, Anthony De Leon, University and Board Secretary Prof. Venzon Limpiada, and Prof. Kristine Joy Martinez of the College of Sciences, will soon virtually interconnect the University’s 17 external campuses across the country’s largest province (in terms of land area) with its Main Campus in Puerto Princesa City. This will enhance the University’s Flexible Learning capabilities as the external campuses and their students within a 10 km radius get to share in its 1GB dedicated bandwidth via the MPLS technology, and the security of its very own Learning Management System where instructional resources created by content experts in state-of-the-art audio visual studios are stored and easily accessed by both students and teachers anywhere in the University online or offline.
The University expresses its profound gratitude to the Commission on Higher Education, led by the Chairman, Prof. J. Prospero E. De Vera III and its Board of Regents led by Chair-designate Commissioner Perfecto Alibin (CHED Commissioner Pec Alibin) for its strong support to PSU in its pursuit to become a Smart Campus. The PSU Administration also expresses its appreciation to all those who made this effort possible, especially the support of CHED MIMAROPA Regional Director Joselito Alisuag.
The Smart Campus Project will help move Palawan State University into greater heights, in its effort to continue to optimize flexible learning and teaching and finally ensure that NO STUDENT IS LEFT BEHIND. ### See Less— with Prof Popoy De Vera.
