Graduate School

Soaring to Heights from Humble Beginnings

The Graduate School (GS) of the Palawan State University (PSU) was established in 1973 as the pioneering entity in the Philippines’ MIMAROPA Region. It is specifically mandated to deliver the PSU’s Advanced Education. In turn, The PSU’s Advanced Education is guided by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) CHED Memorandum Order No. 15 Series of 2019 pertaining to the policies, standards, and guidelines for graduate programs. The GS is housed at the PSU Manalo Campus along with the Laboratory Elementary School and the School of Law.

Currently, the GS is one of the 10 colleges and is composed of four departments that offer seven masteral and one doctoral programs. These are the: (1) Graduate Education Department which offers Doctor of Education (EdD); Master of Arts in Education (MAEd); and Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT); (2) Graduate Business Department offering Master in Public Administration (MPA); Master in Business Administration (MBA); and Master of Science in Technopreneurship (MS Technop); (3) Graduate Nursing Department which has the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN); and (4) Graduate Science Department offering the Master of Science in Environmental Management (MSEM).

The number of semestral enrollees reaches around 500 students who mainly come from the City of Puerto Princesa and municipalities within the province of Palawan. Some other enrollees come from other provinces within the MIMORAPA region, other parts of the Philippines and a few foreign students as well. Since the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, GS classes have been administered virtually.
