Your student can go through and find a lesson they would like to do at home.
RADIAL BALANCE/SYMMETRY
This class students will look at the art principle of balance. They will look at different examples and learn about radial balance.
After looking at some different examples, students will be able to create their own radial design.
UGLY SWEATERS
This class students will listen to the story Lester's Dreadful Sweaters, by K.G. Campbell
After listening to the story we will look at a two different artists who incorporate sweaters/tops and fun designs and patterns into their artwork and then design our own ugly/crazy/beautiful sweater!
SHOE DESIGN
This class students will look at several contemporary shoe design artists including an artist who creates basketball shoes with fun designs, to an artist who uses her cultural influences and beads to create high fashion designed shoes.
After looking at some examples, students will have the opportunity to create their own shoe design.
ORIGAMI BUDDIES
DAY 2
For this class we will finish creating our origami masterpiece.
Students will use their colored or white paper to add details to their folded piece and create their own design.

Day 1
For this class we will be learning about origami and looking at an origami artist and his creations. Students will then use their color paper to create their own origami masterpiece.
Students can turn their origami piece into whatever they want and any additional detail to complete it.
TURKEY TROUBLE
This class students will listen to the story Turkey Trouble, by Wendi Silvano.
After listening to the story students will have the chance to disguise their turkey however they like!

DAY 2
This class we will finish up our animal selfies.
We will look at some fun examples, talk about adding details to the background, and add some color!
BAD ANIMAL SELFIE
DAY 1
This class we will have a little fun with the topic of selfies!
Students will design a 'bad animal selfie' with any animal of their choosing or they can draw their pets.
We will look at some fun examples, view some how to step guides for different animals, and students will create their own!
STREET ART INSPIRED NAMES
DAY 2
This class we will continue working on our street art inspired names. We will look at two different street art artists and how they convey messages of positivity and joy through their artwork.
Students will finish their design from day one and begin to add color and a background.

This class we will start out street art inspired names. We will look at the difference between street art and graffiti and look at some examples.
Students will make their own name artwork inspired by street artists. We will begin by turning our names into shapes and forms and creating a layout for the design.
1 POINT PERSPECTIVE ILLUSIONS: Day 2
This class, we will finish up our one point perspective illusions. We will look at an illusion street chalk artist David Zinn and how he uses illusion art to create playful scenes all over public spaces.
We will talk about the difference between geometric and organic shapes and then students will get to use their colored paper and add their own shapes. they will focus on continuing with our theme of one point perspective and how objects appear as they recede to a vanishing point.
1 POINT PERSPECTIVE ILLUSIONS
This class, we will create illusions of depth using one point perspective. We will look at what 1 point perspective is, how artists create optical illusions, and create our own.

This week, we will be designing our sketchbook folder page and gluing it to the front of our art folder.
This is YOUR art folder, so feel free to design it however you want as long as it is school appropriate!
Use any supplies you would like: markers, crayons, pencils, and create your masterpiece!
We may not finish designing our entire page in one class and that is OK! You'll be able to come back and continue adding to your folder page during lessons if you finish your work for that class.
