Jan 12th - Jan 14th - Paper Sculptures
PAPER SCULPTURES
This class students will listen to the story Iggy Peck Architect by Andrea Beaty
After listening to the story students will get to be their own architects and create structures using 3D paper techniques
Jan 5th - 7th - Ugly Sweaters
UGLY SWEATERS
This class students will look at a two different artists who incorporate sweaters/tops and fun designs and patterns into their artwork. We will look at some fun examples and then design our own ugly/crazy/beautiful sweater!
Dec 15th - Dec 17th - Catching Snowflakes
CATCHING SNOWFLAKES
This class we will look at different examples of patterns, perspective, and how snowflakes are formed.
Students will do a guided drawing to create their own character from a different perspective catching snowflakes!
Dec 8th - Dec 10th - If The Dinosaurs Came Back
IF THE DINOSAURS CAME BACK
This class we will listen to the read aloud, If The Dinosaurs Came Back by Bernard Most.
We will talk about line and create our own contour line cityscapes. Then students will use shapes to create their own dinosaurs and cut them out from colored paper to add to our cities!
Dec 1st - Dec 3rd - Picasso Faces
PICASSO FACES
This class we will learn about the artist Pablo Picasso and the style of Cubism. We will listen to a short read aloud and then look at some examples of Picasso's portraits.
Students will create their own silly Picasso portraits by randomly choosing areas on their paper to draw their facial features and any other details they want to add!
Nov 23-24th - Turkey Trouble!
TURKEY TROUBLE
This class students will listen to the story Turkey Trouble, by Wendi Silvano.
After listening to the story students will have the chance to disguise their turkey however they like!

Week/Class 6 - Surprise drawings!
SURPRISE DRAWINGS
This week we will make surprise stretch drawings.
Students will learn how to fold their paper to create a hidden area. They will be able to come up with and design their own surprise drawing.
Week/Class 5 - Face mask disguise!
FACE MASK DISGUISE!
DAY 2
This week we will finish up our face mask disguises.
If not done, students will finish cutting and gluing their realistic side to their popsicle stick and then create their second side.
The second side can be realistic as well or something completely different! At the end of class, students will have both sided of their face masks completed.
Week/Class 4 - Face mask disguise!
FACE MASK DISGUISE!
This week we will read the story "The Way I Feel," by Janan Cain. After reading the story we will talk about different emotions and how we show our emotions with those around us.
We will start this lesson by choosing an emotion and creating a more realistic mask for our faces that shows that emotion.
Next week we will create a fun and creative face mask for the other side of our face mask disguise.
Week/Class 3 - Fingerprint Art!
FINGERPRINT ART
This week we will be learning about printmaking and use our fingerprints to create our own.
Check out the presentation to learn about different kinds of printmaking, see Mrs. Bello's example and steps, and some ideas for inspiration.]
Then create your own fingerprint masterpiece!
Week 2 - Designing our sketchbook folder page
This week, we will be designing our sketchbook folder page and gluing it to the front of our art folder.
This is YOUR art folder, so feel free to design it however you want as long as it is school appropriate!
Use any supplies you would like: markers, crayons, pencils, and create your masterpiece!
We may not finish designing our entire page in one class and that is OK! You'll be able to come back and continue adding to your folder page during lessons if you finish your work for that class.

Week 1 - Welcome to art!
Hello all my Timnath Artists!
For our first live lesson, we will spend some time getting comfortable with how live lessons will go.

We will take some time to look at your Art Folder and supplies and talk about how these items will help during our art time.
I will share some information about me and hopefully get to hear what you have been up to. To wrap up the lesson we will play a quick Art Scavenger hunt!
