Welcome to STEM Specials at Bamford!
We will be spending the year learning perseverance, collaboration, creativity, and problem solving. Please check the grade-level page links (top right) for pictures of what your child is doing in class as well as supplies we'd LOVE to have donated for future projects! Thanks so much!
Our first classes were focused on going over the Technology Contract as well as expectations, guidelines, rules, and getting our STEM journals ready.
Next, we will have some design challenges at every grade level, to open our brains up to different ways of solving problems and being: curious, creative, and persevering.
Our current lessons are:
Kinder - Building shade structures for stuffies.
First - Build our own noise maker.
Second - Matter and how to describe it.
Third - Forces and motion - how does gravity pull on different objects?
Fourth - Create a prosthetic hand and attach it to our own hand to pick up a piece of paper and move it.
Fifth - Building a rocket to launch after the new year.
If you're interested in seeing pictures of what we've been doing, click the grade level button on the top right corner and it will take you there. Thanks for visiting!
