Fossilized Memorabilia

PROJECTSFossilized Memorabilia

Earth and Life Science

Welcome to Earth and Life Science's Fossilized Memorabilia!

Did you know a fossil can be created in a fun way and in a short period of time? Creating skeletonized leaves made it possible!

Skeletonized leaves are made by detaching the leaf tissue from certain changes of the leaf without damaging the laced veins. These leaves are exquisite and beautiful. It is a hand-made leaf art and was beautifully made by the Grade 11 students. It is not only a leaf artwork, but it also includes inspirational quotes about life. Have a sneak peek of the skeletonized leaves made by the Grade 11 students! It is not only aesthetically pleasing but also affordable.

"Art and science have so much in common - the process of trial and error, finding something new and innovative, and to experiment and succeed in a breakthrough." - Peter M. Brant

Welcome!

Skeletonized Leaf

The purpose of showcasing Fossilized Memorabilia is to demonstrate the fascinating process of leaf fossilization. This program will teach us about how fossil leaves can reveal information about changing climates over time. Not only does this educate about the leaves, but it also includes life quotes that can inspire students about life.

Highlights
"Birth, life, and death - each took place on the hidden side of the leaf." - Toni Morrison
