PA1500 A cappella Choir
A cappella Choir is open to anyone with or without singing experience. Students work on developing singing technique, sight signing and listening skills, as well as expanding their knowledge of music vocabulary and basic music theory concepts. This class focuses on the performance of contemporary a cappella (voices only) music, concentrating on popular songs from the 20th Century to today. A cappella Choir typically performs three to four evening concerts per year as well as at school assemblies. A cappella Choir also combines with the Concert Choir and Camerata Choir at various times throughout the year in performances of other styles of music.
Prerequisite: No prerequisite for students entering grades 10-12. Advanced incoming 9th grade students may audition to be in the course.

For students entering grades 10-12, no audition is required. Simply request this course when making your elective requests.
Students entering grade 9 who are more advanced singers and readers may audition to be considered for A cappella Choir. For information about A cappella Choir auditions, please go to the Chorus Auditions page.
