Pianist Auditions
chorus pianist auditions
Strong pianists are encouraged to audition to accompany Concert Choir and/or Camerata. Because not all music the choirs perform is accompanied, chorus pianists typically sing in the choir when not playing; singing solo is not required.
Auditions for chorus accompanists for the 2024-2025 school year will be held after school in the BHS Chorus Room (room 324) on March 11-13, 2024.
About the audition
The audition will consist of the following:
A written quiz of basic musical terms and musical notation
Playing two pieces of contrasting styles and tempi that demonstrate your strengths as a pianist. Each piece should be no longer than 2-3 minutes in duration.
Sight-singing rhythm patterns
Sight-singing a melody
Sight-reading a short piece for piano
