GO OWLS!
The mission of the PS 64 ILT is to support, refine, and elevate our instructional community in fostering students who are self-motivated lifelong learners and leaders who build upon their personal strengths to positively contribute to our global society.
We believe...
Students will become more agentic and aware as they engage in critical thinking habits on their own
Students should communicate using both academic and conversational language
Students should collaborate with each other to strategically reason through ideas and problems
Students should be fully engaged in co-constructing knowledge through student-centered instruction
Students must be challenged to develop habits of mind that build perseverance through constructive struggle and descriptive feedback provided by teacher and peers
Respect confidentiality
All voices are important
Our group is a non-judgmental safe space
Be honest and open
Focus on the practice and not the person
Trust the process- our work is ongoing
It’s okay to agree to disagree

Some agenda items this year will be:
Unpack and define equity by generating an equity statement for PS 64.
Designing Professional Learning Opportunities for 2020-2021 to support teaching in a blended world
Identifying the gaps and strategies for strengthening our instructional core through the lens of access for subgroups
Determining next steps/changes for our team for 2021-2022
Please begin to capture questions/concerns on these and other issues from team members during your common linkage periods in preparation for our work together.
